The engine has a british magneto, KVD 50 A4, and an Amal carburetter,
its very large for a flathead engine, 88,3mm bore and 115 mm stroke.

Can you help me? I recently purchased a narrow boat, I was told the engine was a lister JP3, I recently found a hand book for a JP3, however the drawings look nothing much like mine. It has decompression levers on the top where mine has them low down on the side. On the opposite side it has three red handles that I believe screw in and out to change the compression for easier starting, the previous owner told they were only to be used to get more power in an emergency!!.

I have a Petter AVA1 diesel engine, serial number is 3170481, rated at
5 & 1/2 BHP @1650 revs. This has a cast iron bed and an electric generator/starter.
The alloy label on the genny is corroded, make is ?????nson, 3KW, 230
volt, 1500 revs. Cast on the gen frame is D5122. Would like to know who
made it, and a wiring diagram.
